Subject Leaders Networking Day

2018 Subject Leaders Networking Day

The 2018 Heads of Department Subject Leaders Networking Event will be held at Lancaster University on the Friday 13th April 2018, before the AGM. More details will be published in spring 2018.

For illustration, the 2016 programme was as follows:

The 2016 Heads of Department and Subject Leaders Networking Day will take place at St Anne’s College Oxford, Monday 11th April 2015 with registration opening at 10am. The event brings together a diverse group of academic leaders (across regions, types of university) who have strategic responsibilities in English language, literature and creative writing from a range of universities. This provides an excellent networking opportunity and a forum to share and discuss experiences with your peers.

The event is structured around contributions from two main speakers, but we place a strong emphasis on small discussions and workshops to get to the core of the issues that are affecting you now.

The event is run and facilitated by University English. We are a professional organisation that represents the teaching of English in the universities and promotes the discussion of shared issues across our members. You do not need to be a member to attend this away day but we have timed it to fit conveniently with University English’s AGM and conference at the same venue (registration starts at 4pm on the 11th April and the conference runs until 12th April).

Previously, the Heads of Department and Subject Leaders Away Day has been organised and facilitated by the English Subject group in the Higher Education Academy (HEA), with subject input from University English (formerly CCUE).
