Events
University English organises or participates in various events during the year.
Details of each event are contained in the individual pages linked below the Events tab above. The main events are:
Annual General Meeting
A two day event held in the Spring, including a Keynote by a distinguished practioner.
Ordinary General Meeting
A one day event held in early December in London, with a Plenary speaker followed by panel sessions.
Networking event for Heads of Department and Discipline Leads
Usually held immediately prior to the AGM, this event brings together a diverse group of academic leaders (across regions, types of university) who have strategic responsibilities in English language, literature and creative writing from a range of universities. This provides an excellent networking opportunity and a forum to share and discuss experiences with your peers.
Early Career Event
A one-and-a-half-day workshop open to everyone who teaches English at HE level who has been in post for three years or less and is focussed specifically on the experience of teaching English in HE and is designed to encourage you to talk through your experiences, expectations and aspirations with your peers and with the University English team.
